About this listen
#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A weekend to get it right.
They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of spending summers in cottage country, on the glittering lakeshore of her childhood, she stays in a stylish apartment in Toronto, keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart.
Until Percy receives the call that sends her racing back to Barry’s Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek—the man she never thought she’d have to live without.
For six summers during their youth, through hazy afternoons on the water and warm nights working in his family’s restaurant, Percy and Sam had been inseparable. And when Percy returns to the lake, their connection is as undeniable as it had always been. But until she can confront the decisions she made, they’ll never know whether their love is bigger than the biggest mistakes of their past.
Told over the course of six years in the past and one weekend in the present, Every Summer After is a gorgeously romantic look at love and the people and choices that mark us forever.
Get a glimpse into Charlie's story in a sneak peek from Carley Fortune's fourth novel, One Golden Summer.

Story
My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me. Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me. Which could spell death for us all.

Great story, terrible narrator
Great story that is full of nostalgia and brought me back to summers at the lake. Highly recommend reading this in print though, if you are able. I am an AVID audiobook lover and this is one of the few examples where the narrator does such a disservice to the story that I feel I would have DNF’d the book entirely if I listened to this first instead of reading a physical copy (I chose Audio for my re-read). Her voice is immature and so high-pitched that it is akin to nails on a chalkboard. Don’t even get me started on the male voices. Incredibly disappointed that the same narrator is also reading the author’s 2nd book; when there are so many great narrators out there why this one?!

Fantastic story, so romantic and such a tear jerker, so obviously, Carley Fortune knocked it out of the park with her debut novel and congratulations Carley. I also want to give a shout out to A.J. Bridel, her narration was on point. I usually hate it when girls change their voices to be the male character but she made Sam sound amazing, a man with heart, every girls dream guy. She did it better than if a male had read the part. Thanks for bringing the story to life and in such an enjoyable way. Please narrate more books A.J.

Exceptional!
I rarely write a review this book was on a recommend list when I noticed the author was Canadian. I thought why not give it a try light hearted summer reads are a part of my summers usually they are fun upbeat and somewhat forgettable. NOT THIS BOOK! Being a product if the 80’s and 90’s this book was so relatable. It tugged at all the heart strings and by the end I was ugly crying!! This one will stick with me look forward to more from this first time author!

Kept Me Listening
Loved that the book was Canadian based, and with correct pronunciations. Enjoyed the 20 year growth in characters. And, the narrator did a very good job, especially with the male voices.
