About this listen
The best-selling legal thriller - and CBS TV series - has charismatic defense attorney Mickey Haller taking on a slam-dunk court case involving a Beverly Hills playboy - but as it spirals into a nightmare, he finds himself in a fight for his life.
Mickey Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense attorney who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, traveling between the far-flung courthouses of Los Angeles to defend clients of every kind. Bikers, con artists, drunk drivers, drug dealers - they're all on Mickey Haller's client list. For him, the law is rarely about guilt or innocence, it's about negotiation and manipulation. Sometimes it's even about justice.
A Beverly Hills playboy arrested for attacking a woman he picked up in a bar chooses Haller to defend him, and Mickey has his first high-paying client in years. It is a defense attorney's dream, what they call a franchise case. And as the evidence stacks up, Haller comes to believe this may be the easiest case of his career. Then someone close to him is murdered and Haller discovers that his search for innocence has brought him face-to-face with evil as pure as a flame.
To escape without being burned, he must deploy every tactic, feint, and instinct in his arsenal - this time to save his own life.

What's up with the music?
Overall fantastic storight by a very good narrator. Not sure why they added music to parts of the production, but it was quite distracting at times.

Exciting storyline!
Another good one from Michael Connelly: this time, it’s a lawyer rather than PD. I’m thinking our author learned from one of the best lawyers and laws from John Grisham, whose familiarity with his pursuit for Justice. Great achievement! Thank you, Michael Connelly! Can’t wait for the next story with half-brother, Harry Bosch. Highly recommended!

Wish Grupper could narrate all the books!
What a ride! Some annoying music because it is too loud but it happens seldom. I binge listened.

Riveting
Narrator was awesome. The story was also really good but I thought the ending was a little bit of a let down. It was exciting enough but could have used a little extra oomph.

A great story!
Michael Connelly is a darn good writer, and this is a great example of his abilities. I have enjoyed his Bosch series, and this book adds to his list of great reads/listens.
The narration by Adam Grupper adds a lot to the enjoyment of this story.

Couldn't Quit Listening
Great story and narration. I've got to see if there are more of this author / narrator combination audio books. I was hooked from the start and it didn't let go until the end.

Why the music though?
The Lincoln Lawyer series is one of my favorite ever. Michael Connelly is a true master. The narrator is also quite good, but every other chapter there's random music added at the end of the chapter/beginning of the next one. It is too loud, adds nothing to the story, and at times it's super distracting. It's not necessary and I wish they hadn't added that, because otherwise this is a 10/10!
